Job Introduction

Leader needed for a good school!

MPS/UPS with TLR

Closing date: 6th May 2025 12 noon

Interview date: 15th May 2025

Ashdown Primary School in Crowborough is looking for a class teacher to lead KS1 or EYFS from September 2025.

We are a two form entry split site school with an Ofsted rating of Good (2023).

We value every child for what they are and prepare them for everything they could be.

The school cares passionately about increasingly the potential of its children and staff, inclusion, fair trade and we are an eco-school.

Our teachers say the following about working at our school:

  • Supportive staff team with good morale;
  • Caring and forward thinking management;
  • Great children, ready to learn;
  • Creative and flexible curriculum;
  • Cake.

We welcome applications from everyone, but particularly form teachers who have experience of Year 1 phonics screening and/or EYFS baseline and EYFS profile.

Applicants need to have teaching experience, but not necessarily in leadership, and be able to lead a team of teachers including being responsible for developing practice across the phase. They will be a member of the leadership team of the school, and in addition to a TLR payment will receive a half day non-contact time (in addition to their PPA) for the fulfilment of phase duties.

This post is not suitable for an ECT.

Ashdown Primary School commits and expects its staff to commit to East Sussex County Council’s Equal Opportunities policies.

Ashdown Primary School also takes its safeguarding responsibilities extremely seriously and is committed to keeping children safe. This post is subject to satisfactory references, DBS checks, and questions will be asked at interview and of referees as to the suitability of candidates to work with children.

Working pattern: Full-time
Please note, we do not accept CVs.
