Job Introduction

Individual Needs Assistant (Key Stage 2)

27.5 hours per week (09.00 - 15.00), Monday - Friday. Term time only.

Grade 3, Point 7: £24,027 pro rata.

This is a fixed-term role which is linked to funding. The contract is is anticipated to be for a minimum of 18 months but it could be extended beyond this.

The role of an INA involves providing one-to-one and group support to children with additional needs. The post holder will implement appropriate interventions for individual pupils, and support the wellbeing of children by delivering planned enrichment programmes. The post-holder will also be involved in supervising and supporting other children in the school, as needed. 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience of working with children with additional needs.
  • Previous experience in supporting children in a classroom setting.
  • Knowledge of child development.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Proficiency in Math and English.
  • High expectations for themselves and their students.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A commitment to personal and professional development.
  • A flexible, 'can do' attitude.
