As an Essential Skills English Tutor you can make a real difference to a person’s life by helping them learn new literacy skills and knowledge, as well as developing their confidence, life and social skills to enable them to integrate effectively and confidently into their local communities and potentially secure employment.
 
You will:
· Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet the needs of individuals and a group of  learners who have a range of complex additional support needs
· Evaluate individual and group progress to inform onward planning and delivery 
· Collate and prepare learners' assessment portfolios, acting as the Assessor and working with our IQA to ensure robust accreditation
 
We are looking for candidates who:
· Have a positive attitude towards improving everyday literacy skills of learners who are harder to reach and/or have a range of additional learning needs (Profound & Multiple Learning disabilities (PMLD)), to aid integration into the local community
· Are advocates of lifelong learning and the positive impacts it can have on quality of life and employment opportunities 
· Have a passion for the development of themselves and others
· Have the ability to meet the knowledge, skills and experience required of this fulfilling and rewarding opportunity
 · Are keen to meet the needs and aspirations of all learners, differentiating learning according to individual starting points and progress
 · Enjoy working collaboratively to ensure the best possible learning experience for all

Interviews will take place in a face to face setting at ACRES' House and will include a 45 minute micro-teach to a sample group of role playing learners. These are scheduled for the w/c 22 and 29 April 2024.

This role is for tutors who will teach face-to-face at one of our venues in the Wealden area.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
