About the role:
Orbis is a shared services partnership between Surrey County Council, East Sussex County Council and Brighton and Hove City Council. Overall, the councils spend around £1.7bn with external suppliers for everything from software to social care services and from cleaning products to sports equipment, so we have a large Procurement Service which supports customers to deliver better value from our contracts and ensure we source our contracts in an open, fair and transparent way.
One of the Orbis partners Surrey County Council is embarking on a major initiative where a new Contract Management Advisory Service (CMAS) team is being formed to help shape how contract management is delivered across the authority. This new team will be an integral part of enhancing the authority’s contract management capability and will provide value for money assurance and visibility over contract performance.
The analyst will be part of our Data and Analytics team in the Orbis Procurement Service and will focus on supporting the delivery of service specific projects by gathering, preparing and presenting data and intelligence that will help inform and shape the Service’s contract management strategies.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop a professional analyst career in a team that provides a great working environment where you are supported and given a platform to develop.
Previous experience in public sector procurement is not essential and we welcome applications from experienced professionals from other sectors.
At Surrey, our values and behaviours are just as important as our skills and abilities. They shape who we are as an organisation. Find out more about the values we follow.
