Package Description

NJC pay scale + 10% flexible working allowance + Surrey allowance £1381 per annum for 42 hours per week at Wray Park Training Centre, Reigate, Surrey.

You will be required to work some evenings and weekends.  Compensatory time off will be given during the week.

A standard DBS 'Disclosure and Barring Service' check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) is required for this role.

33 days and 3 long service days annual leave, Firefighters pension scheme.

Job Introduction

This opportunity welcomes applications from Competent Crew Commanders.

Please note this role is also advertised internally. 

This role is subject to satisfactory references, medical and fitness assessment (Bleep test to level 8.8, 42 VO2 max.

You must have good I.T. skills, as this role includes the development and running of Incident Command scenarios utilising XVR software.  You will be working under the guidance of the Lead Instructor for Incident Command arranging and completing ICS level 1 training and assessments for supervisory commanders and supporting the training and assessments for ICS level 2, 3 and 4 in coordination with our external providers.

Applicants must also commit to train and work as a Breathing Apparatus Instructor on occasions.

Instructors in Surrey must maintain their operational competencies which includes regular crewing on one of the fire stations.  Surrey procedural transfer training will be provided.

Relevant instructor and teaching qualifications will be provided.

The Learning and Development Team is located at Wray Park, Reigate which is where the Command Training suite is located.

A driving licence is required as training can be delivered in a variety of locations across the service.
