Job Introduction

Our shared vision

Surrey Heartlands ICS and Surrey County Council (SCC) have an established partnership which includes Surrey Heath and Farnham that sit in the Frimley ICS. By 2030 we want Surrey to be a uniquely special place where everyone has a great start to life, people live healthy and fulfilling lives, are enabled to achieve their full potential and contribute to their community, and no one is left behind.

Our ability to jointly achieve this will be determined by partners and partnerships across local government and the wider public sector, the NHS and other healthcare providers, local businesses and many others working together in a collaborative way. Equally we recognise that bringing in great people to help us influence, facilitate and harness the benefits and opportunities available to us will be integral to our success.

The roles

Driving the implementation of a single commissioning service in your respective area (Mental Health, Children and Learning Disabilities) the focus, and challenge, will be to drive collaborative working with our partners to develop long-term collective commissioning strategies that provide integrated services that are sustainable, cost effective and deliver positive outcomes.

Is this me?

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate a deep understanding of commissioning with an ambitious focus and motivation to achieve systemic improvements through truly integrated services. This understanding will be combined with experience and/or exposure to the health care system and local or central government.

Key qualities will be credibility and gravitas coupled with the right approach to influence and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders whilst maintaining a natural curiosity for emerging best practices.

You will also be confident in your own abilities, pulling on your previous experience to navigate a complex system environment whilst finding ambiguity a healthy challenge.

What we commit to do to support you be successful

Aside from the tools and an open invitation to work agilely (and safely) we can offer you a compelling mandate to drive changes combined with a genuine commitment of support from the senior leadership teams in both organisations.

These are big jobs in a big county, but your voice and council will be welcomed, heard and respected at the most senior levels to help you help us achieve our goals.
