Contract: Pro-rata (generally term time only)
Hours of work: All new tutors are typically offered one course in their first term, and then we will build on the offer as appropriate subject to demand
Per course
2 to 2.5 hours per week teaching
2 to 2.5 hours per week planning, preparations and assessment
Additional hours
Course planning and set up and professional development

Salary: East Sussex Grade 6 Scale point 14-16
Working pattern: Typically either 5 or 10 weeks per term
Daytime or evening, with the occasional Saturday (2-3 per year)
Locations: Uckfield, Crowborough, Heathfield, Hailsham and Battle in either college and/or outreach venues. Online (considered only in addition to face to face provision)

Closing date: Sunday 5 June 2022
Interview date: Weeks commencing 20 June and 27 June 2022

  • Are you able to or willing to learn how to assess student learning and progress?
  • Are you interested in learning, growing and improving your skills?
  • Do you have a relevant subject qualification?
  • Can you demonstrate successful experience as a practitioner?
  • Do you have experience working with adults from diverse backgrounds and perhaps some who may have additional learning/support needs?
  • Many of our teaching resources and tools, e.g. registers and course folders, are now digital, and we conduct training/meetings remotely.
  • Are you confident in using online documents and folders?
  • Have you experience using video conferencing?
  • Have you taught online? (not essential as training will be provided)

Qualifications: 4/C grade in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent qualifications required.
