Job Introduction

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to shape and develop foster care training for our ‘outstanding’ Fostering team at East Sussex County Council. You will be responsible for equipping our highly valued foster carers with the knowledge, practical skills and motivation to grow in their role while remaining child centred at all times.

You will identify, plan, produce and manage training which is both cutting edge and in line with statutory requirements. You’ll be experienced in delivering  training both online and face-to-face. You’ll be confident in evaluating your work in collaboration with supervising social workers.

You’ll have a background in statutory front line Children’s Social Work and an excellent understanding of contextual safeguarding alongside the fostering regulations.

You’ll achieve this by drawing on the national Minimum Standards for Fostering and East Sussex Fostering priorities. You’ll learn from annual reviews and feedback from exit interviews, Standard of Care findings and panel feedback.

You will also have experience of managing admin staff and monitoring budgets.

Crucially, you will be committed to equal opportunities, diversity and difference and have the kind of interpersonal and teamworking skills that enable you to work with people at all levels of the organisation. You’ll be proactive with a passion for continuous learning and development.

In return, you will be joining a progressive, dedicated and supportive team with a clearly-defined career development and a highly-competitive package of benefits.

Our ‘Progress’ pathway enables you to enrich and develop your career by mapping out all the different options and opportunities.  It enables staff to build on existing skills and develop new knowledge and it provides clarity around the requirements for pay and progression, social work registration and further accreditation.
